May 2006 - Alicante!

Following the many requests of writing in English for greater accessibility of info, here I am, using the now "European" language!

To continue with the chain of events, at the end of April Victor took me to Spain and left belly and me under the custody n care of his family...
I spent 10 days there on my own and then Victor came back, on time to pick up my parents, who arrived on the 16th, and of course on time to experience some of the wait for the big event!

But before continuing, I feel I must answer one of everyone's FAQs:
Why Spain?
One of the most evident answers would be: -for the medical care and the special follow-up (with a father in law who's a gynecologist what else could you ask for!) And I have to admit that I did receive the best medical care and treatment ever...but the medical care was not the lever that made us stay there for three long months...
Spain responded to a dream, Victor's dream to have his father deliver the baby so that he could be the one to greet her to this world and our joint dream of having the two families in the same place at the same time. We are always half-way through happiness...if in Spain I miss my folks, if in Italy Victor misses his own. For once we wanted to be 'complete' and wanted our baby to experience the joy of having both sides of the family around her. Less selfishly we wanted both our sets of families to have the pleasure of spending some time with the baby and be spectators of her first progresses...
Unfortunately the dream was far from the reality we experienced, too much unwanted and un-needed tension spoiled our imaginary Eden, but we won't go into detail...bad moments need to be forgotten, I will only talk about the marvellous times that need be remembered!!!
Hence I will say that one of the highlight of our Spanish séjour was my discovery of two extra sisters...Both Ana and Maria were as sisters to me and I felt very close to them both...And I am sure baby did as well. It was nice to experience pregnancy with Maria and see our bellies grow together and it was great to have auntie Ana involved in baby's kicks at nightime...actually for nearly two week she wasn't only a sister, she was a 'husband' to me, taking me to AN classes and massaging my swollen ankles!
It was nice to check on our baby's progresses all together....
